This table has history and meaning. Yew wood root system with yew wood cross members. This tree was over 400 years old and savaged from a Vancouver island forest fire. The wood withstood close to 2000 degrees temperatures which created the vibrant color tones in this wood and made it truely kiln dried. I actually saw this forest fires smoke from a view point, over 10 km away. When arrived on the scene there were Two small water bombers and the (mars) large water bomber flying over. Concern came into place when the fire chief on site told us that the water from the bombers can take the bark off trees! Well I got some great pictures of the bomber bombing right over our heads right before we got into the truck. So we found this Yew wood root in the burn area and hauled it out knowing it would find its use and now it has grown a new life.
