Painting | Tucson
One day while sitting on the terrace of a small rented house near Saguaro National Monument I drew a colored sketch in my notebook. This is the painting that grew from the sketch. The painting draws from the visual language of cubism but it is lacking in literal references to the world of things. Even so I cannot help but see a striding figure, moving from the center of the painting to the right. It is painted in oil on a substrate of birch plywood. It measures 35" tall and 30" high. I can make similar style paintings in any size.
