Borosilicate glass (for extra clarity), silvered (color shifting) glass with swirled encasement to reflect more light. Sterling silver.
Pastel swirls of iridescent color highlight these one of a kind lampworked glass earrings.
These are truly unique beads. I came across this bead making method by accident and I love the added reflections from the not-quite-smooth outer swirls. And the clarity of borosilicate glass can not be beat!
After I made each bead on a steel mandrel in a searing hot flame, I kiln-annealed, cleaned and placed them on sterling silver wire between metal spacers. Then I topped each one with a Swarovski crystal, made a wrapped loop and added a sterling leverback ear wire.
