Pelicans At The Wharf

Head board and picture combined in this price. Head board is made of poplar wood. If another wood type is desired, the cost will be updated.

While visiting Amelia Island in northern Florida, my wife and I walked down to the wharf. The many types of birds, most of which are pelicans, gather on the docks, waiting for local fisherman to return for the evening. As fish are cleaned, scraps are fed and it creates many happy birds.

I was able to capture the patience of two of these pelicans as they waited for their meal, as they stood on one of the docks.

Two very good friends asked if my wife and I would remodel their guest cottage with a fresh look. We discussed the paint colors and type of design they were looking for and decided upon a seascape motif.

The picture frame is distressed to fit into this decor. The headboard posts are made with a pelican on each of the corner posts, facing each other. The slats are intended to reflect upon the dock at the wharf, only upended. I used select poplar wood for the headboard and the frame is made of a hardwood. Both the photo and the headboard would be sold as a set or separately and the price would be reflected accordingly.

The buyers were great to work with as was the design subject and I welcome working and designing with a buyer on this or other types of projects.
