Playing With Colors

I was challenge to do a piece based on the illness synesthesia, which causes people to see sounds. The idea intrigued me so I set out to research the illness and what I could use as a subject.

I've always loved the piano, therefore I choose a piano as my subject. The sound, look, and when the composer plays in is beautiful. Thinking of what it would look like if I saw sound I felt curled lines that were brightly colored were perfect.

I kept the "sounds" simple and elegant so it fit the piano itself. I was a joy to paint while listening to piano music. The mood was kept up and the piece was complete.
