Portrait In Glass - Head And Neck

This glass sculpture is a one-of-a-kind portrait. A mold is taken directly from a person face to create a positive plaster mold. the mold is put in a kiln and a sheet of glass is slumped over the mold. The glass face piece is then paired with found objects, blown glass, and ceramic pieces to create a unique portrait. Many elements come together to create the piece, the person being portrayed, the artist senses and great unknown spiritual aspect. This piece is just a head and neck piece. It is a piece of a fiend of mine and it is about the walk we all take to climb that ladder to success. Each piece has a story to tell and each story is unique to the person being portrayed. This is a contemporary sculpture that can also be used as a lighting pieces with a light inside the piece or places on a lit pedestal.
