Punctuation Rules Bowl - HandMade Letterpress Stamped Etcetera Dish - English Elementary School Teacher, Reporter, Librarian, Writer Gift
Seems I went CRAZY with the Punctuation Stamps!!! My Brain must have had the "CAPS LOCK" Permanently ON while I was creating this bowl...
The "Punctuation Rules" bowl is 6 1/2" in diameter and 2 1/2" deep and it has been Hand Built, so it's not perfectly round, but a wondrous Organic round-ness, full of Love from my hands to yours! The inside of the bowl is painted with 3 layers of an intense and glorious Crimson Red, I stamped it with a few of the Punctuation Signs, and it has been glazed, so it is food safe! On the outside of the bowl I used antique letterpress stamps, randomly grabbing Exclamation Points, Coma's, Dollar Signs, Asterisks, Ampersands....(you name it, I stamped it!).... and pressing them into the clay, here and there, this way and that, creating a tumbling Punctuation Extravaganza! I have purposely left the clay unglazed on the outside, but it has been stained with a food safe Jet Black and it is such an awesome textural sensation to hold the bowl and rub your fingers across the indented Punctuation, plus it visually looks really cool with the glazed inside!
The bottom of the bowl is signed and dated it with black glaze by yours truly.
*´♥.•NOTE~Please Remember: these dishes made Completely by Hand, start to finish, not a store bought dish that I am writing and painting on....that's what makes this Super Extra Special!!
All of my handmade pottery is painted with lead free/food safe glazes. It is microwave and dishwasher safe, although I do recommend hand washing because my carefully made clay pieces, although very durable, happily deserve a little more love than commercially manufactured ware. Please do not put this in the oven!
This is a good sized bowl for a large serving of salad, soup or cereal..... or a big helping of dessert! And not only would it be a great conversation piece at your next dinner party, but is big enough to serve smaller side dishes as well!
