Queen Mosaic Headboard (No Footboard Or Rails)

Creating a one of a kind headboard is a joy for me. For this project, I start with the right surface: in these examples, I used a vintage headboard that I found at a local thrift store. I painted it and then worked with my clients to choose china in the colors they liked best. I then begin cutting the china and creating the pattern. When the client and I are satisfied with the design, I glue it down, wait for it to dry and then grout the project. Once that dries, I use a sealer to make it easy to wipe down and keep it clean over the years. I spend quite a while simply polishing the details, touching up the paint and obsessing that the piece is perfect. These headboards often have slots for regular bed frames, but they look great if you mount them to the wall at a slightly higher height so you can see all of the pattern. I can make various styles as you can see in the photos.

I use U-ship to find independent carriers who can deliver door to door. They can be slow and a bit unpredictable at times, but they also deliver the piece nicely in one piece without damage very economically, much like an Uber or Lyft for packages.
