Barbara Barran started her design career by cutting stencils to create quilt-patterned floorcloths. She then translated quilt patterns into hand-tufted, hand-knotted, and flat-woven rugs. Barbara was the first person to sign a licensing agreement with the Gee's Bend quilters, whose work has been shown in museums throughout the US. At these shows, Barbara's Gee's Bend rugs were shown and sold.
Barbara still works with the Gee's Bend quilters.
Custom quilt-patterned rugs, including many Gee's Bend designs, are available as a custom order. These designs work beautifully in both residential and contract applications.
Dimensions: Custom rugs are available in any size or color that you desire; however, the Gee's Bend rugs are never custom-colored, as this would detract from their design integrity.
