Quilted

This is a panel I made for a house owned by a quilter. Its about 24" in diameter. I realized when I was researching for this piece that a lot of the Japanese patterns I loved looked a lot like traditional american quilting motifs. I translated the imagery onto the glass using the techniques of sandblasting and high-fire glass painting. It was constructed using traditional lead came. No frame was needed as it was mounted directly on top of a fixed, insulated glass panel. This panel is one of a kind and was made by hand by me.
