Rare Black Walnut Coffee Table On Black Eames Era Mid Century 5 Star Base
This is one rare and beautiful slab of Black Walnut. The wood was sustainably sourced from an urban reclaim in Frankfort, KY. The sheer size of this single slab of crotch cut Black Walnut is amazing! Add to that the colors, grain patterns and figuring found within this slab of wood, it is nothing short of spectacular! The wood has been planed flat, sanded smooth and finished in a satin poly mixture to protect the piece from moisture and daily usage. Out of all of the lumber I've acquired over the years, this is one that is difficult to let go. The beautiful top has been paired with a mid-century modern era 5 star aluminum base and painted in a flat black. The top can spin 360 degrees, or I can fix it if you desire it to not rotate. I personally love the spinning ability in this piece as it just glides smoothly in the direction that you push and would make just another luxury of not having to get up to retrieve something on the opposite side. If you are seeking a large coffee table with a naturally amazing slab of wood, a piece with contemporary and mid-century flair, composed of sustainable and reclaimed materials....this is it!!! The finished piece measures 41 1/2" L x 24 1/2" to 43 1/2" W x 14" H. The slab itself is a solid 2" thick.
