This file is showing some of the raw materials we work with and where it comes from.
It seems that questions about materials come up often.
This shows how our large slabs are cut using a 2 man Alaskan saw mill, which uses a really big chainsaw and a couple of sweet guys. The large trees are from the mountains in Montana. Many are dead standing or if green have came from areas that homes are being built in.
The trailer load of wood show some of James and Mary hard work. Old farms are very time consuming to pull down when some of the smallest materials are being saved, James and Mary hand pull the nails saving them to fill screw holes. We use woods that are in various stages of decay for many types of projects.
We do on occasion sell some of our raw materials when asked real nicely.
