Rawhide Hand Drums

These are an example of the 12" rawhide drums I make and paint. The drums are elk or deer rawhide stretched over a wood frame, and pulled with super strong artificial sinew that I weave into a dreamcatcher-like pattern on the back.

The first is a traditional labyrinth - a meditative journey (that can be traced with your finger) representing the journey of life. The reverse is a dreamcatcher with a few beads and a soft leather handle.
The second drum is an antique compass design with a dreamcatcher in the middle. The reverse is a weave-pattern with a cross of soft leather as a handhold.
The third is the Man In The Maze, a traditional Native American version of the labyrinth. The back is a traditional dreamcatcher design.

All drums are painted with special leather paint and are handled with the utmost respect both while they're being created and after they're finished.
