This listing is for One (1) Glass Blackberry.
Many sculptures have been shown to give you let you see them from all angles and to give you an idea of how individual berries can vary in shape.
Your sculpture will be the size of a grocery-store blackberry - about 1 inch high. It can be fully ripe with all black cells as shown here, or it can have a few red cells.
My glass berries are so lifelike you'll think they are real fruit until you touch them. But unlike the real fruit, they will last forever and become treasured family heirlooms.
Almost nothing in nature is perfectly round, smooth or even, so I deliberately avoid making my glass fruit and leaves too perfect. I put on splotches and speckles, make them a tidbit lopsided, and add other imperfections so that each berry or leaf is unique. This makes them look much more "real".
I make each of my glass fruits by melting glass rods in the flame of a torch and shaping the glass with simple tools. Every single drupelet (cell) is individually applied over the surface of the fruit in a painstaking process. Like real blackberries, my lampwork blackberries have a shiny surface and include the center "plug" that remains inside when the blackberry is picked.
The photos above are representative of the glass blackberries I make in this style. THE ONE YOU RECEIVE WILL BE SIMILAR TO, BUT NOT EXACTLY THE SAME AS, THE ONE(S) SHOWN ABOVE.
WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD
These glass raspberries are lifelike enough to fool adults at first glance. Never display these glass raspberries where they could be confused with real fruit. Never put them in your mouth, even for fun, or allow anyone else to do so. Make sure to keep them out of the reach of children of any age.
