Reclaimed Console Table

So she says to me, "I need a table, something with character that is old and rough...and how about metal legs?" So I ran to my reclaimed wood supplier to search his warehouses, we found a thick, rough sawn birch plank that fit the bill. He had pulled it out of an old Jim Beam warehouse that was built in the 1920's to store the aging whiskey. And that is how this Reclaimed Console table came to be.

The top is made from 2" thick reclaimed old growth birch, it was brushed clean to remove nine decades of grime and dust and finished with three coats of clear sealer to bring out its beautiful patina. The base frame is made from 1"x1.5" tube steel that has been heat treated for the dark coloring and finished with clear powder coating for protection.

The table is 34" tall, 40" wide and 9" deep.
