In the Summer of 2010 the University of Central Arkansas remodeled Arkansas Hall into the STEM Residential College. In the process they were throwing out dozens of decades old fire doors which had seen innumerable students over the years.
I managed to salvage eight doors from the dumpster including the Resident's Assistant office door. Underneath an ugly 1980's stick on veneer was a beautiful patina that speaks of the years this door served in Arkansas Hall. The table is constructed of a single door and uses no other materials outside of the screws used to assemble it. This is a truly unique piece of history.
There are six students room doors remaining in the series which are devoid of frosted glass insets. If you would like a table made similarly or to your own design from one of these doors then feel free to drop me a line. Estimated cost is $200.
