This is one of the first things I made with reclaimed tobacco sticks and I think it highlights the beauty of the differing woods. It includes red oak, poplar, hickory, and another species or two of wood. The individual sticks were planed down and glued together before being finger jointed to form the shelf.
It's perfect to display special objects or some of your favorite books. It looks good as an accent or on the wall in a kid's room.
It is 30 inches wide, 12 inches tall, and 4.5 inches deep. It needs to be mounted by screwing into a wall. I'll include some trim head screws that barely show. The finished sides were hand rubbed with a tung-oil type finish.
