Reclaimed Walnut Clock With Chickadee Marquetry Inlay

This clock was made from the top of an old walnut record player that the family no longer had a place for. I mitered the sides to give it a seamless look and put a radius on the top and the bottom to give it a unique appeal. The pieces for the top and the bottom were bent to fit with a vacuum press and forms. The marquetry on the face was designed, made, and inlaid by Purenard Customs. This clock was then sanded to a fine grit (320) and then finished with two coats of shellac, two coats of vinyl sealer, and two coats of conversion varnish.
