This is a No. 5 Shaker rocker made with hard maple wood (except for the back posts) recycled from discarded shipping pallets, as evidenced by the marks left from the pallets' deconstruction. Like our "virgin" wood rockers, this chair captures the finest aspects of Shaker design and craftsmanship. Its high back with cushion rail, its smooth turnings and flowing curves, and its overall feeling of lightness, are the reasons why we feel that this version will become a favorite with those who appreciate the best of Shaker design and have a concern for the environment. People have told us that it makes an ideal nursing rocker for new moms.


We make the recycled cushion rail rocker in clear hard maple with a medium brown stain and a shellac finish. The seat is a checkerboard woven from 1" cranberry and butternut Shaker tape.
