Redware Graduation Plate Decorated Using The Sgraffito Technique

Redware Graduation plate of red earthenware with white slip.

Decorated using the sgraffito technique - scratching through the white slip to reveal red clay beneath. Yellow coloring is from transparent glaze emulating yellowish colors of antique redware plates.

Project began with patron's image of the insignia from the college recipient graduated from and was used with permission. Patron chose a round plate. Sketch was approved by patron. Additional questions may include where to put names and/or dates and what to inscribe on the back.

Dimensions: $75.00 deposit is required and you are given a sketch of the plate to approve. 10 1/2" diameter or 11 1/2" diameter
