Repurposed Hickory Box With Traditional Joinery

Yard sales and flea markets are great places to get beautiful repurposed wood. I was lucky enough to score some hickory from my friend's sale, and I couldn't wait to turn it into this lovely box. This study piece measures 12" in length, 6" in width, and 5" in height. It is useful for keeping clutter at bay and also looks good enough to put on display. The wood grain of the hickory looks awesome with the ash I used to make the bottom part of the box. To complete the rustic look of this piece, I used traditional wood joints to assemble all the components of the box.
