Riddling Rack Trestle Table
The central design element to this trestle table is a riddling rack, which is used to hold Champagne bottles at a 45-degree angle during the fermentation process. The client had acquired this rack at a vineyard and wanted to make a dining table with it. This table is made with reclaimed hemlock from a century-old barn in Upstate New York. The rack is supported by the trestle supports and covered by a sheet of tempered glass. The table measures 76 inches long by 36 inches wide, and extends to nearly 9 feet with the extensions (supported by oak supports). The table is created using traditional pinned mortise and tenon joinery. Size, style and finish can be customized to your requirements.
