Robin And Chicks Jewelry Box
Made as a gift for a bird watcher, this box's marquetry inlaid top depicts a mother robin feeding her chicks in their nest. The marquetry is composed of a variety of exotic hardwoods set in a sweetgum background. The box is made of walnut and has approximate dimensions of 12 X 10 X 5 inches. The tray inside the box is designed to lift up as the box lid is opened. The inner surface of the lid has been inlaid with a holly inscription to Pam and Laurie from their Aunt Nan. The tray and the bottom of the box are lined with black velvet.
