I searched for months for an oversized (7") newel post emulating the design and workmanship of 100 years ago for our farmhouse. I found Bill Pinion's site and can only say the whole experience of working with Bill has been delightful from start to finish. Top notch craftsmanship, first class professionalism.
This Rollback Windsor Chair was made out of a white oak log. The log must be hand split, then rived with a Hand Froe so that the grain is perfectle straight to be steam bent. All the work on a windsor is with hand tools and requires about 35 hours of labor intensive work. This one has hand carved knuckles on the steam bent hand rests
