Rolling Ball Sculpture Kinetic Desktop Office Steel Art
Titled Lunar Walk, this piece measures 10 1/2" x 13 3/4" x 9" and is made entirely of hand-formed and TIG-welded stainless steel. It is sized suitably for an office desktop or side table. The sculpture was created with a relaxed and contemplative feel in mind. The initial small spiral leads into interconnected track sections, each angled just slightly in order to maintain a slower pace and make the most of the marble's journey. Periodic drop-throughs punctuate the sculpture with moments of quick movement leading up to the pleasing swirl of the final large spiral. Even the marble, itself handmade, was chosen specifically to fit the needs and mood of this work.
