"Roots" is a semi-hollow body T style electric guitar with an organic look. Hand carved roots are partially inlaid over the body, A vine inlay climbs the neck and autumn leaves are inlaid into the back of the body. The prototype was built with a walnut body, spalted maple cap and wenge "roots". The bolt-on neck is carved from curly maple with a zircote fretboard. Vine and leaf inlays are made from walnut, padauk, maple and purpleheart. The guitar is fitted with two single-coil G&L pickups, one volume and one tone knob and a three-position blade switch.
