This round dining set is skillfully crafted from a single black walnut tree once located on the top of Berry Mountain in VA. The wood was slowly dried to preserve the beautiful and vibrant colors that are rarely seen in black walnut today. Most walnut used in furniture today is diluted of its natural color by rushing the drying process, and steaming it to blend the cream colored sapwood into the nut brown heart wood for a higher yield but lower quality material. The highly figured symmetrical book-matched top displays prized and highly sought after crotch grain, one of natures most beautiful works of art. The hand rubbed finish truly brings out the depth and character wood deserves and will only improve in patina over the years. The four milking stools surrounding the table really complete this set!
This custom table measures 39 1/2" in diameter and 30" tall. The table seats 4 comfortably with 4 hand carved walnut stools.
