This is a cabinet designed by my client for her foyer. She wanted a cabinet to match the style of the other pieces in the room for her guest to put their things (purses, etc) while they visited. It is made of ash, a very hard wood that is also used for big league baseball bats, using mortise and tenon joinery. The exterior surfaces show the saw and milling marks. These surfaces were sanded smooth but retain the texture of "sawmill" lumber. The stain is walnut and three coats of satin poly were used for the finish. The overall size is 34inW x 17inD x 46inH. ( 36inH to the top surface ) I call it "uptown rustic." I enjoyed making this interesting piece.
