Sapele End Grain Chopping Board, Butcher Block, Island
An exotic hardwood similar in strength to white oak, sapele is stronger than its visual cousin mahogany due to an intriguing interlocking grain, making it a fine choice for end grain food preparation surface. It does present a slightly difficult surface to finish, but then again some character is part of any functional wood surface's charm.
Non-scarring, self-healing and most gentle on your good knives, only end grain constitutes a genuine chopping block.
