This is our version of the stunning Scarlett dress shown as a portrait in Rhett Butler's bedroom of Scarlett in the movie "Gone with the Wind".
The entire costume is shown using real silk velvet in a navy blue (there is a little color manipulation in the photos to show the texture and detail of the dress as the navy shows up dark). The skirt and bodice are made of a whopping 15 yards of silk velvet with beautiful fullness in the skirt layers, a nice gathered bust, and off the shoulder sleeves. The bodice is boned down the seams, lined in silk satin, designed for a slender fit down the torso and shaped down the back. The panels are angled to give a great illusion of being thin. Back of the bodice is grommetted with a lace-up corset style back closure and a modesty panel.
The bloomers (sold separately) are cotton adorned with several rows of lace and pleating near the bottom. The dress is pictured over a mega full slip and hoop (sold separately).
The lace shawl is an embroidered bridal lace with scalloped edges. For reference we have attached a photo of the original portrait.
