CustomMade is an online matchmaker connecting people who want and make custom goods. Buyers come to CustomMade looking for furniture and cabinets - among many other custom creations - completely bespoke to individual style and need. We exist to empower individuals who believe in buying custom and disrupt the system of buying mass-produced, impersonal and low quality goods. Of course, we know why we do what we do, but we want to hear it from your perspective:
What are the reasons a Buyer would want a custom piece of furniture? Why should a Buyer work with a professional artisan (we call them Makers) or woodworker? Is there any tangible value for a Buyer working with a Maker who is passionate about his or her craft?
An increasing challenge faced by North American based furniture manufacturers is that of overcoming the competitive prices offered by companies that manufacture overseas. Many local makers, like those on CustomMade.com, compete by offering a higher quality and one-of-a-kind product that will last for generations - delivering better value to the consumer.
Terms of this Scholarship
CustomMade, Inc. ("CustomMade") is committed to protecting your privacy and providing a safe online experience. By using the Site, you consent to the collection, storage, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in the CustomMade Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these practices listed in the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, please do not use the Site. By submitting an entry to either of the CustomMade Scholarships, you transfer all rights and ownership of submitted content to CustomMade, regardless of whether your entry is selected as a winner. CustomMade reserves the right to publish submitted work at the conclusion of the entry period in any manner CustomMade sees fit. Selection of winning submissions are entirely at the discretion of CustomMade. Winner(s) will be contacted by CustomMade via the email address used for submission. Winner(s) will be confirmed ONLY after providing proof of enrollment in the form of a copy of a tuition bill OR letter of proof from the accredited United States college or university at which the winner(s) is enrolled. Upon confirmation of enrollment, winners will be publicly announced on CustomMade.com, and CustomMade will mail the winner(s) their check.
