Restoration of the woodwork and finish on this rare dutch Baroque 'viol Kopf' clock. This included researching the missing crest figure and carving in Basswood and gilding a replacement. Areas of marquetry and shaded banded were missing and much of the veneer on the boulle base had delaminated. pieces of carving in various places around the clock were missing and replaced 'in the style'. a second hand was carved in brass and wood lacework on the crest was recreated. The museum of the Dutch clock in Holland has two examples by this maker and provided information, so Thanks are due to them. The clock stands 9' -11" high . The clockworks play 12 tunes on a 14 bell arrangement.
