This (Danish) / early 60's modern style coffee table was designed to fit Scott's dimensions (to fit a specific space) and to use the same wood as that in my "Starry Night" coffee table. the tabletop (all from one board), aprons, and legs are made from jatoba (aka Brazilian cherrywood). The breadboard ends (mittens) and the leg tips (slippers) are made from a red Bubinga to accent and enhance the red tones of the Jatoba, and satisfy the artist's fondness for accents.
Jatoba is a dense, heavy, oily wood (like teak) and it is very hard and resistant to denting. With its wet-sanded Danish oil finish, it is almost impervious to food and drink and can be easily refinished if ever needed.

We have just received the coffee table that Jonathan Walkey made for us. It is beautiful...exactly what we requested and perfect for our space! We really appreciate the way Jonathan kept us posted on his progress and the pictures he sent as he worked on the table. We are grateful for his excellent craftsmanship, reasonable price, honest opinions and prompt delivery. If we need any more pieces, we'd love to work with him in the future.
