Sculpted Men's Watch & Valet Box With Sliding Drawer
This watch & valet box is constructed of solid Wenge & Cherry wood which was hand selected for the beauty of its grain and stability of its structure. The Cherry wood used in this piece features a unique vertical figure which shimmers when viewed from varying angels. The Wenge used in this piece is a very dark and durable hardwood which came from the Western portion of Africa.
The exterior of the entire box was hand carved to resemble lapping waves along the shoreline of a beach. The surface features undulating peaks and valleys which smoothly flow into one another. As interesting to touch as it is to look at, the sculpted box offers a unique look and feel unlike any other box.
The top of this box lifts to reveal storage for eight watches. Eight velvet watch pillows are also included with the box which provide a safe and attractive resting place for the watches. Underneath the top watch compartment a sliding drawer provides an open storage which can be lined with cufflink storage tray, a slotted tray for the storage of fountain pens or left open.
The box features a solid Cherry wood body trimmed in a Wenge accents, splined miter joints for enhanced stability and a solid Wenge top.
No stains or dyes were used in the making of this piece and all colors seen are the natural colors of the wood, which will continue to deepen and enrich over the years.
The piece is signed and dated on the bottom.
