Spectacular craftsmanship. Austin created a beautiful high end stacked walnut king bed. We were looking for a statement piece for the master that was unique using high quality wood for a mountain home, yet refined to work with the "mountain modern" design concept. It's absolutely beautiful and Austin was a pleasure to work with. I was so pleased he is working on other projects. Photos will come later once everything is completed.
This is a one-of-a-kind slab dining table with unique custom base. The top is a single piece of wood milled from a claro walnut tree in the river valley near Sacramento, CA. The base makes a play on the off-center weight of the top, holding steady at the center and reaching out to the light side.
The base is made of hand-plasma-cut, bent, and welded sheet steel with solid wood legs coped in around it. Not only is the base elegant, but it is incredibly strong, given the layer and welded construction. The top is trimmed with nice, back-beveled curves to ease the transition from live edge to cut edge.
