Sea Shell Birdbath With Driftwood Perch
Have you collected sea shells every time you go to the beach and just know you'll make something with them someday? But...haven't gotten around to it yet? Well we have too and finally put them to good use! Not just Birdbaths, but Planters, Birdhouses, Picture Frames, Mirrors, Lamps, Vases, Tables you name… it if it can be glued to it, we've got a shell on it!
As an example of what one can do with some found shells on any beach, we are here to share with you a unique, one of a kind, very special Sea Shell Birdbath. It turned out beautifully and we're so pleased to have used so many delightful sea shells we've collected over the years to create it. We have once again used the durable adhesive we have come accustomed to using on all our products and have designed this beautiful blend of North Carolina Sea Shells, called, 'The Driftwood' Birdbath. Together it creates an awesome warm memory of time spent at our magnificent North Carolina beaches!
It takes quite some time to make sure every shell is perfect and adheres to the adhesive, plus we cover the adhesive that is exposed with sand and what I call, shoreline crumbs of broken shells as fill in. It's gorgeous! I wished you could see it up close and touch it. You can almost hear and feel the ocean waves breaking against your feet as we went out daily picking up shells.
We are able to create you a similar Sea Shell birdbath using our own collection, or possibly if you desire we welcome you to send us your collection so that we can custom make one especially for you using your own seashells. What could be better? If you don't have the time or maybe lack a little creativity for creating your own Birdbath, we would feel honored in creating one for you!
This particular Driftwood Birdbath design has a very rare find in this huge driftwood tree trunk as its center piece and we placed a painted metal Herron in its center so the birds could have a special perch to enjoy. The seashells are all washed and cleaned prior to using them so the natural colors and tones of the natural shells will come forth.
We seal our weeks' worth of work with a Marine Urethane to protect the shells and the birds. They will love it just as much as you will. Perhaps you may want a memorial Birdbath or something that will signify a special trip or occasion, this would make an excellent trophy for anyone who is trying to keep their memories alive for as long as possible. We know from past projects, our Birdbaths will last for years, season after season. The Sea Shell Birdbaths are light weight but, we do supply a metal rod to insert into the base and ground to help stabilize your Birdbath and protect it from storms.
