While lacking the overall size of many complicated pieces, a spice box is an excellent way to show a cabinet makers skills. This is a contemporary twist on one of my favorite styles of furniture. Constructed entirely from one piece of cherry, this piece features solid birds-eye maple drawers, over 100 hand-cut dovetails, solid brass hardware with cherry burl inlay, a synthetic ivory escutcheon, and simple but eloquent moldings. It is finished with a combination of hand rubbed tung oil and wax. If you would like to use this as a jewelry box, I would be glad to add dividers to each of the lower 4 drawers.
