Shuffleboard Table

This project was a blast. 9' long playing surface, solid 2" thick ash. I milled it from two full-size beams and alternated the grains for a subtle striping effect. Burned in scoring zones, pips, and company logo, finished with hardening paste wax that's buffed to shine.

The cradle top is poplar plywood, bordered with ebonized ash. To minimize the shuffleboard pucks clattering and marring, the gutters are lined with thin black foam and topped with burlap. The trestle base is also solid ebonized ash with a semigloss lacquer finish. 10' overall length, 30" wide, playing surface is 32" off the ground.
