Sleep Paralysis

I was commissioned by a custommade.com customer who wanted a miniature variation on a lifesize statue depicting the struggles of a disorder called sleep paralysis from the late 1800's.
The final version was carved from poplar wood showing sinister winged demon atop a sleeping woman struggling with paralysis in her sleep.
It was carved using various motorized and rotary carving tools. It was then detailed and fine-sanded before sprayed with a stone-like paint finish to simulate a stone-stone carved look.
It will be a showcase item in his home in Florida.
