Sliding Maple Partition Doors

These eight foot tall doors were designed to partition off part of a large loft in downtown San Francisco. The owner wanted them to allow light to filter into the area while affording privacy, and to slide out of the way at times to open up the space. The loft dictated the clean, simple lines of the doors, which were constructed of solid hard rock maple with veneer ply and frosted glass panels. Each approximately 96" x 32" door is made with mortise and tenon joints and hung with heavy-duty sliding hardware and stainless steel hinges. The finish is clear lacquer.
