This year we are proud to announce an exciting project. Second Life Studios has be selected to build custom tables for Sony Music's offices in New York, NY. The project consists of 65 tables in three sizes that come together to create one, large piece of abstract art.
Each table was either 5', 5'8" or 10' long. All tables are 30" high and wide.
The tables were built from 2x2 inch square steel tubing, pressed birch tops with a gunmetal stain and custom artwork. Each table was then covered with a liquid epoxy (liquid glass). All of the tables also include a cord management system for computers.
Each table was hand painted by KC artist Dan Reneau. Each table is unique and different but fits together with the adjoining tables to form one large complete piece of abstract art. Each table fits together as a part of a puzzle but can also stand alone as a unique piece.
One of our favorite things to do is design custom projects involving local artists. We love the idea that woodworking is our form of art, incorporating other artists makes things even better.
