This piece features an image of a beautiful, yet sorrowful statuary angel found and photographed at a cemetery outside of Dublin, Ireland then meticulously painted on a textured and plastered surface. Her sweet, sad face pulls at your heart and represents our need for beauty, safety, and security through religious symbols. The aging and deterioration of the statue itself, as well as the "distressed" treatment of the painting could symbolize two very different things.
