Special Operations Group / Swat Gun Box

These boxes were created for special operators or members of SWAT teams as a memento/ keepsake box. Many time when an Operator retires the Team purchases a handgun as a gift and this box was designed to encase and display the handgun. The shape of the box is indicative of a shield with the 1* displayed in the middle. The shield and 1* symbol are commonly used in the tactical operations field and are indicative of special operations. The 1* is a modern interpretation of the ancient warriors who's only regret is "that I have but 1 life to give". The 1* is an abbreviation of the modern interpretation of this, meaning "1 a$$ to risk".

The box itself is made of walnut with a rosewood, maple, and ebony inlay. The face of the box is made from paduk, which is a naturally red hardwood. On one of the boxes I also created a paduk inlay around the upper and lower frames. Inside the boxes can be custom cut to fit any handgun with room for 1 additional magazine. The interior can either be lined entirely with felt to protect the handgun finish, or have a walnut face with felt lined cut outs for the handgun and magazine. The display stand is an optional feature that is also made from walnut and features polished .308 rounds (inert for safety) to elevate the hinged end of the box.
