This indoor project is a ten inch diameter sphere that I made from red oak and walnut. The segmented construction consists of 60 identical kite-shaped polygons that have been cut very precisely using a technique I developed recently. It can either sit on a curve-fitting stand, or suspend from ceiling. I can make just about any convex polyhedron now. The only limit to the size is the width of my doorway on my workshop which is about thirty inches. Cost will depend on number of parts, complexity, kinds of wood, size, and type of finish. The price range specified below is an estimate for a sphere that is similar in size and complexity as the one pictured.
Dimensions: 10 inches diameter.
