This pattern originally started as a deck gate on a house below Mt. Meeker and Longs Peak near Estes Park. The home owner asked for a mountain scene. I asked what else she liked and she asked for a bear. I find bears to be powerful and mysterious. I have always liked the Zuni fetishes and this mimics their depiction of the bear. It was serendipity, that the lightning flash through the bear looks like the silhouette of Meeker and Long in the background.
This can be used interior or exterior. It is made of mild steel with art glass glazing.
