Company Logo Panel- Ikaika 13

For this project, the client wanted a stained glass panel that would show case the logo of his graphic design company, Ikaika 13. The lines of the logo were very important so we decided to do the central area as a fused glass element in order to maintain the focus on the logo. I built the border using traditional stained glass methods. He intended to hang the piece against a wall which was an important consideration during the glass selection.

I used red and blue dichroic glass for the logo to give it some real pop. The background of the fused glass area is iridescent white. Each stroke of the logo was cut and inlay-ed into the surrounding white glass so that once it was fused together, it would keep the crisp lines of the client's logo. I used elements and the style of the logo to compose the design for the border. If you look closely, you can see the 13 in each of the four quadrants. The glass is opaque so that the color intensity isn't dependent upon having light transmitted through the glass.

The finished panel is 24" x 36" and makes a real statement in the client's home.
