Stained Glass Christmas Creche Figures - Santons

In France, the tradition of the Christmas creche is extended to include everyone in the village. These visitors to the manger are called santons, or little saints. They have been created by artisans in southern France for centuries from the local clay.

Over the years, I have created the creche and versions of many of the santons in stained glass. They are attached to a mirror base and can be illuminated with a tea light at night. Though they are beautiful during the day, the scene at night is stunning yet tranquil. The single figures are approximately 8" H x 5" W x 2.5" D
