My client asked for a guitar with a fully bound cutaway with a contrasting binding material. I found a Rosewood that's common name is Flamewood that had a nice red / orange hue that contrasted with the Brazilian Rosewood very nicely. This was one of 5 special sets of Brazilian Rosewood I had. The back and sides were cut from the same board so the color and grain matched perfectly. Also, the wood was perfectly quarter sawn with just enough figure so one would know without a doubt that it was Brazilian Rosewood. The top was a piece of European Spruce that had no runout and so much cross grain "silk" that it absolutely shimmered. All the woods mated together wonderfully! This guitar was one of my favorite projects.
