Metal Art Design, Wall Decor, Kim's Steel Horses

I was hired to create two steel horse designs with backlights for a tall living room home. The customer wanted them to fill a 15' living room wall, plus she wanted them to be backlit.
Each piece is created out of 18 gauge steel, each is about 36' tall x 26" wide. When I was cutting out the designs, I made sure to cut out highlight lines through out the steel. This would let light would shine through these lines.
On the surface I created textured flowing effect with a grinding tool to create motion of muscle and flowing hair. (with all my steel, I love to create flowing lines on the steel surface, then normally seal the surface with an automotive clear paint.)
I placed rope lights behind each piece for lighting then an electrician was hired to hardwire the art.
These were created in 2004, each panel was 275.00.
