Stone Fireplace Remodel With Hand Forged Iron Doors

This construction -remodel project required the living room's fireplace and architectural 'focal point', to be completely stripped of an early 1970's 'volcano lava' fireplace. We selected & refaced the fireplace with a real stone, utilizing a mixture of granite, indigenous to the Sierra Mountains, to anchor an authentic Tahoe Lodge theme. This freestanding fireplace remodel towered 28' high of interior space and center supported the entire rustic wood beam ceiling. Below is a loft library, kitchen, dining & living room. We searched out a massive 1-peice mantal stone, naturally adorned with time-worn water ground holes! We custom built a 3-sided fireplace decorative screen & doors in european traditional hand forged iron with flamed copper & bronze accents. Complete with an interior giant log grete & massive forged iron-ends & rings. Fireplace accessories; all custom forged tools to match, ie; tongs, poker, broom & shovel. For the hearth, we selected large slabs of quartz. We custom milled the flooring with wide plank, hewned hickory hardwood flooring. We specialize in High Country, Rustic, Mountain Lodge projects! Note; in photo, on right, is our custom cherry wood / forged iron spiral staircase which climbs to a secluded crow's nest library.
